Recently, a local school district has been forced to shut down schools and interrupt the education process of thousands of children as a result of mold found in a classroom. East Pennsboro district elementary, middle, and high schools have been shut down since the second day of school for local students.
While some of these schools have since reopened, the high school has a more serious problem and its doors will be closed to several weeks as they seek to mitigate the issue. Just this past week, more mold was discovered in one of the district’s elementary schools forcing school officials to make the decision to evacuate the students and send them home early.
As a result of this widespread mold issue, school officials are seeking the assistance and opinions of experts on this toxic problem, and our very own Alan Rimmer was given the opportunity to share his vast knowledge of the subject with WHTM27 News.
